Elaine graduated with distinction in Garden Design from the much-acclaimed Bishop Burton College in East Yorkshire.
Elaine’s first career was as a teacher culminating in twelve years as a Deputy Head. She ran courses for parents, teachers and school governors after gaining an MA in Community Education from Leicester University.
Since 1996 she has been running her own Garden Design practice and has gained medals for her Show Gardens.
Elaine enjoys most creative activities and can’t remember a time when she was not a gardener or a designer of gardens. She has done some commercial photography, exhibited art work, is a grandmother, a member of MENSA, enjoys rock climbing and squash, and has trekked in the high Himalayas.
With husband, Phil Ward, Elaine has renovated their grade-two listed house in the Yorkshire Dales. They have also reconstructed their quarter-acre garden to Elaine’s design.
