The picture is looking along the bottom end of the garden towards the east corner.
The pink astilbes are in the small bog garden which lies at the end of the pond. They blend well with the pink gravel which creates a beach area covering the bog garden and well beyond. Stepping stones provide a comfortable path across to the path along the bottom of the lawn.
A new feature is currently being created at the further end of the lawn. This is to be a dramatic giant snail built of stone.
The bottom border of the garden, seen here on the right, is in shade much of the time because a neighbouring building runs along the south boundary.
