For the first three years after its creation this was strictly a ‘hot border’ but blue flowers have crept in over the last couple of summers.
There is very little planting in the garden now which was original but here and there is an old favourite such as some huge Michaelmas Daisies which never get mildew, or a sweep of Golden Rod. A massive, and ancient, clump of Echinops regularly reaches about seven foot tall at the bottom of the garden. I don’t really like it but haven’t the heart to throw it out.
